Mr Apple have 400 permanent staff across their orchards, post harvest facilities and business support services departments. With 15 orchard blocks across in Napier, Hastings and Central Hawke’s Bay, we are always open to hearing from people with expertise in horticulture who align with our business mission, vision and values. What you’ll be doing

Do you enjoy working outdoors? Are you hungry to learn and want to contribute to growing the best apples in the world? Then we want you to join the Mr Apple team on one of our many orchards across Hawke’s Bay!

As an Orchardist you will learn all day-to-day tasks that take place on an orchard to ensure that when the apples are harvested, they are at their best. This role varies with the changing seasons and there is always a new challenge for you to sink your teeth into. The great part is you do this working alongside a diverse and supportive team, some of whom are legends in the horticultural industry.  

Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:

• Tree Management including; pruning, tree training and thinning.  
• Quality control, Irrigation, Spraying and Tractor Driving
• Re-development (replanting) of existing orchard blocks with new apple varieties
• Using technology and systems to guide your decision making
• Supervision of Orchard teams (once you have gained the required experience)

Who you are:

• While we welcome experienced orchardists, horticultural experience isn’t required
• A future thinker – you are passionate about learning and owning change
• You are enthusiastic, reliable and a team player  
• Thriving on being busy, you like to be active and hand on
• You must have reliable means of transport to and from work
• You have the right to work in New Zealand and can pass pre-employment checks
