Hastings Cool Store - Casuals

Are you looking for a casual role that isn’t sitting at a desk or standing in one place all day?

We are looking for casuals to work at Hastings Coolstore to assist with our loadout team with labelling and other pallet preparation tasks. Our peak season runs from February to August 2025. This role does require flexibility in being able to come in late notice during 6 days of the week. Some weeks you may work a full week and others you may only get a couple of days’ work.

What you’ll be doing:

‍

As a Hastings Coolstore casual your day will be spent working inside the coolstore (you’ll need to be comfortable in the cold), supporting all container loadouts and trucking orders. You will be required to complete a range of tasks to ensure pallets are ready for loading, such as labelling; ensuring pallets are labelled to the relevant export standard and complete related paperwork. You will also support the Coolstore Logistics team to ensure they can meet all additional post packing requirements as and when required.

• Process orientated and liked to follow clear procedures

• Practical, hands on, and enjoy being on your feet most of the day

• Able to be on-call as and when required, there are not set hours or days.

• You are easy going and have good communication skills  

• Have the right to work in New Zealand and be able to pass pre-employment screening and checks
