Mr Apple has multiple Post-Harvest sites located in the sunny Hawkes Bay, These include 3 packhouses - Whakatu, Longlands and Waipawa with various Coolstores Operations, a Laboratory and Engineering workshop.

When Can I Start Work

Situated in Hastings and Waipawa, our Packhouses and Coolstores run a day and nightshift and operate up to 6 days per week.

During our peak season, Mr Apple recruits up to 2000 staff. Our packing season is typically from February to July; however, this may vary slightly season to season.

Fruit Production Apprenticeships

Mr Apple is offering apprenticeships in fruit production. This program offers apprentices the opportunity to earn while they learn, whilst in fulltime employment and studying towards a National Certificate in Horticulture (a NZQA Level 3 and 4 qualification).

Apprentices will receive on the job training and experience that will encompass all aspects of packhouse and coolstore operation, which may include fruit quality, forklift operation, machinery operation, quality systems and inventory management.

Successful graduates will have the opportunity to apply for roles throughout the business with good prospects to become a supervisor, foreman, team leader or manager.

To be considered for an apprenticeship you must be at least 17 years old, keen to study and willing to learn new skills.
